PHILOSOPHY

This is an addendum to the ‘About’ section which I feel is necessary because of the fairly schizophrenic nature of my website: serious political reportage on the side bar, scatological metro musings on the blog. 

Think of my blog as something silly, a running email thread among friends, a digital scrapbook of experience.  There’s far too much seriousness to go around - which I see daily as I study military strategy, terrorism, counter-terrorism, wars past and present - and in order to keep sane I revel in the madness, the absurd, the frivolity of life in Paris, life in general.  Writing keeps me honest and I hope you, dear reader, are at least a little bit entertained.

The format is a compilation of essays, stupid little poems I write on my iPhone during my commute, pictures, conversations, snippets of fiction, snapshots of the daily clash between my neurosis-ridden brain and the bitch-goddess Paris.  I’m not cool enough to write reviews of the latest Hip Restaurant or Gallery Opening or Pop Up Store, nor am I chic enough to post pictures of What I Wore Today.  I just like a good story.

Unless otherwise specified, everything on this site is original material - mine, mine, mine - so don’t steal my juice.  Merci.
