Rose S. Foran is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in International Security at Sciences Po Paris. She received her B.A. in International Studies at the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. Rose hails from Los Angeles, but has also lived in Jerusalem and Paris (where now she resides in the bobo haven of the Marais neighborhood).
An aspiring journalist, Rose has been published in numerous newspapers and weeklies, including The Jerusalem Post, Al-Quds, Marie Claire, and USA TODAY. She has worked for The Media Line, a press agency focusing on the Middle East, and was an intern in the news department of USA TODAY, for whom she currently works as a free-lancer. Rose also works as a research assistant for world-renowned foreign correspondent, Janine di Giovanni, who has taught her a thing or two about being a globe-trotting journalist and has been the mentor-to-end-all-mentors.
Rose was born with an extra finger (which was later removed), raised without television, and has an extreme aversion to tuna. In her spare time, Rose enjoys writing down strangers’ conversations, playing water polo, swimming, cooking, and taking care of a pair of wonderful, ridiculous 4-year old twins who have forever changed her life for the better (most of the time). Rose’s spirit animal is a giraffe.
